This is a sturdy built air conditioning unit that was the beacon of coolness for my house. My old air conditioner died late last summer and I was determined this summer to get one at the beginning to cool off my family. This unit is powerful, strong and mighty with a sleek build that makes a wonderful addition to our home. It has a remote and smart features as well to set the temperature remotely. I love the eco mode that senses the temperature based on the thermostat and cools the room to the exact temperature of your heart's desire. It has 10,000 BTUs to amply cool off multiple rooms of my household and this is on the lower setting which saves me money on the electric bill in the long term as well so it is a win win! Good job GE, you now are coexisting with my 30 year old GE microwave and 15 year old GE fridge.

This AC is so LOUD. Was told by sales person, his feedback from customers is it is a quiet machine. Not the case at all. It sounds like it is puttering when on as opposed to a constant

I am Livid!
I was sucha fan of GE . My Mother purchased one years ago that lasted a really long time . I recently tossed it out as it was old ( it was still working ) to replace it with this newer model. In fact I had purchased two . One for the Living Room and the Bedroom . My Bedroom stopworking . I had reset it came . The same with the LV . NOW we are approaching the Summer the weather is warming up and my AC is NO longer working after a purchase of 7 months .I call for repair to schedule a appt . The Technician calls me ask me about my make and model . I send it he says he will call me back . NO call . I call him back to only find out that he said he called GE and they advise they NO longer make parts for my Newly modelled AC they charge almost $500.00 ( Say What ) . The Technician advised me to call GE number . I call the number he provided 1800 386-1215 to be transfered 3 times . I am currently on hold waiting for a representative for 25 minutes . I will NOT purchase another GE product after this

This window air conditioner was installed in a room 12 X 12 feet and it worked perfect. I had it set at low economy cool and the amount of air it moves is fhenomenal. Once it reached the desires temperature it would automatically shut off and the restart as automatically. It produces a white noise that I found helpful in falling asleep.

I was hoping some of the reviews were wrong but it wasn't the case. This AC is only 3 months old and completely rusty in the outside from all the water that sits in it. Thankfully the person who installed it for me tilted it out and so the water drips on the ground below. If you saw this AC you would swear it was 5 years old. I replaced an 8 year old AC with this that was in much better condition. My first review was that it was great and cooled the room but I have changed my mind. I hope that water will evaporate before I have to take it out and drag it through my house.

I had to purchase a new A/C this summer because my older unit which was working when I packed it up last year stopped cooling the air. I opted for another GE thinking that it would be comparable. This new unit, also 10,000 BTU, is much noisier. I'm a bit disappointed but I guess you can't be too picky for this price range. Oh well.

Bought this a/c a year ago. Had a couple glitches right away and should have returned it then. But, hate returning things, so, called for tech support. They couldn't figure out why it was randomly going from cool to fan. I foolishly decided to hope it wouldn't do it often.
Well, this summer has been even worse. Constantly just goes to fan even if it is in the 80s. It sometimes just shuts off even it if is hot out. Have to reset it. Would never buy this one again!

I had two LG units that only lasted a year so I replaced those with 2 GE units this year. What a disappointment. These service our animal buildings. They don't cool well. Sometimes they are only a few degrees cooler than it is outside. These were a waste of money.

We have been using this air conditioner for our small bedroom and for our first floor (with another AC operating). So far it cools the room quickly and at a manageable price. I definitely recommend taking the drain plug out because we were surprised during a heavy thunderstorm when water came pouring in our room.

I had a portable AC that I've been using for a couple weeks but decided to return it and get a GE window unit. This makes my room way cooler which has been insanely helpful during this heat wave. While it's obviously not silent, it is much quieter than my portable unit. I also was able to hook it up to the app in less than five minutes and haven't had a problem with it yet. I can't recommend this enough.
