Very Noisy Refrigerator

I got this brand new refrigerator and it is very very noisy when it is in operation. I can hear the loud noise more than 50 feet away from it. Sometimes I heard vibrating noise. I called for a service. The technician came and told me it is normal. The loud noise and vibrating noise is normal!!!

This french door refrigerator holds a lot of food - in both the refrigerator and the freezer. The exterior is attractive, the fingerprint resistant stainless steel truly doesn't show prints, and the shelves are very well organized. The top right shelf can slide to be a half shelf or full depth (allowing for taller items on the shelf below if needed). I'm very happy with my purchase.

I did a lot of research before I decided this was the fridge for us. The motor is very quiet. I thought there would be a lack in freezer space, however it does fit everything I would normally have in a double door freezer fridge. Only downfall is that even the though the shelves are adjustable, with the the shelves in, you cannot fit large drink containers properly. You have to basically have to tilt the drinks sideways or adjust one of the shelves to the point you can barely fit anything in the shelf you just adjusted below the drink shelf. You do loose the side storage on this fridge compared to a double door fridge. The other features make up for that. Besides that it's been great!

I love the large capacity and the design . The ice and water dispenser were big selling points for me. Doors seem to slam a bit but that's not a major concern

I am 5' 2", and can reach the top shelf all the way to the back of the refrigerator. I was made to believe that a 28 club foot refrigerator would fit our needs. But I found that bigger isn't better, it was deeper and higher. The top shelves were out of reach for me. I do have concern over the door closing, at this time I must personal make sure they close. Perhaps there is some adjustments needed to be made?

Lots of bright room due to ice container located on the inside door. Especially like the large pull out door for creative space of storing. However the ice storage seems extremely small for our family. When. We first got the refrigerator the ice machine wouldn't operate much at all. Tried everything and finally called our dealer who said these units were coming in with defective filters. I changed the filter and no longer have any problems. I would like for the plastic bins and parts in the freezer to be a little more sturdy or stronger plastic. I wouldn't complain if the words on the front of the water/ice showed up better. Overall it's a pretty good unit.

It's a beautiful refrigerator! However, the refrigerator is not living up to my expectations. The door handle to the freezer keeps coming off. The ice flies everywhere. I wished I would have noticed this within 48 hours of installation. It's not my favorite.

If we had known this fridge would have failed within 3 months of moving in we would have bought our own instead of going with the builder set. Everything was working fine and then the water stopped working with the ice maker and then everything started melting. The next day we had to throw out hundreds of dollars worth of groceries and then had to eat out for a week (originally it would have been a month with the original technician repair date), so we were out hundreds of dollars. And apparently this one has a recall on it and the builder didn't let us know. We were having problems initially registering it online after we moved in and it took us longer to get that and a few other items registered. In the future we will be buying from a local appliance store and not a GE product.

Reasons why I chose GE, previous one was a GE we were happy with. It was on sale and was more affordable than the competition. It had both water and ice dispenser in the door. It allows more space for taller bottles to fit comfortably. The freezer has a large capacity and has a divider that slides to adjust for size of items and a top drawer to better organize content. New style. Inside the fridge, you can also put large servers with ease.

Loved this refrigerator in the beginning. A month later there is water dripping from who knows where. The freezer is not keeping things frozen and now the whole thing has stopped working. All this in one day. Spoiled food. This is ridiculous for a brand new frig.

It is a nice refrigerator but with design flaws. There are three small shelves on the left side so small width wise that even a small Heinz mustard container does not fit on one of them efile one can hold three cans of soda and the third hold nothing because between the one inch width and the the three inch height I have found nothing that fits in it. Although the top shelf inside the main refrigerator adjusts to allow taller items, it allows for the size of one gallon of milk and one half gallon of milk if that helps you visualize it. The shelf only slides half out of the way so that it literally all you can fit in the "taller space" which is disappointing. I usually put a half gallon of milk and two smaller containers of juice and it is a tight fit. I have had the unit for LESS than one month and yesterday the entire freezer handle ripped right off the door when pulled open. I kid you not, came right off smashing to the ground. I was able to reconnect It and use a mallet to smack the side of it over to ensure it is fully latched on to the hooks which are attached to the drawer itself, but what poor workmanship and quality control. I would not recommend this refrigerator to anyone given it costs $1600+. I have higher expectations for that much money.

after getting over the initial wow of having a brand new super cool fridge, there are a few things i've started to notice and the major one that stands out to me is…. it's kind of hard to read the letters above where you switch from water to cubed ice and crushed ice. i find myself, even though i know what's there, having to bend over and look closely to make sure of where to push the button. if i could give 1 suggestion, make it a little easier to see the writing on the control panel, maybe backlit with a motion sensor or something to illuminate the control panel (by waving your hand in font of it or when your hand or an object comes close enough to it) if you want the subtle approach and not have the words visible all of the time.

Lots of room inside, looks great - a few bugaboos - One is the ice dispensing - for cubes and crushed ice, it really comes out fast and sprays all over - you need a wide rim glass or cup and need to hold it right up to the top of the output or you get a lot of ice on the floor. Secondly, this baby is very loud when operating - not a deal breaker, but I will pay close attention to this feature when making subsequent purchases

When The compressor is running it is very loud and the compressor runs a lot. I have to turn up the tv. The motor for the ice is also loud but that's not bad.

Extremely noisy, runs frequently, hasnt maintained temp. Always colder than what was set, freezer drawers always squeaks, handle keeps falling off. Ices up on inside of ice maker door. Ice chips all over floor when used.

This unit replaced a 15 year old GE fridge that we were very satisfied with. In comparison with the old unit this one is much noisier and seems to run more frequently. It is next to impossible to fill a glass with ice, especially crushed ice without making a mess on the floor. Also there is no drip tray under the ice/water dispenser so any drips or pieces of ice just lay there and have to be cleaned up with a paper towel after each use. Whose bright idea was it to label the buttons for the ice and water with dark letters on a dark grey background? Anyone taller than about 5 feet needs to bend over to get the writing at eye level in order to read the writing. We do like having the ice maker in the door though. It opens up quite a bit of extra space that was taken up by the old ice maker in our previous fridge. Overall fairly satisfied with the unit.

Pleased with the refrigerator, ice maker and water dispenser are awful, takes forever to get a glass of water, installed refrigerator on Sat., took until Tuesday to get a full bucket of ice cubes which are about one inch long and 1/2 inch high. Still waiting on service repairman.

Very happy with the features, the coolness, and the well designed filter for water. The filter couldn't have been made anymore perfect, it makes city water taste like spring water.
My only complaint is the Anti-fingerprint stainless shell is not anti-fingerprint and the stainless scratches far to easy.
