We love our new GE side by side refrigerator/freezer. We bought the stainless steel one and the look is nice and sleek. Also like the alarm on the refrigerator if left open after a period of time. It is spacious and bright in lighting.

One top light is not reasonable. When shelves are filled visibility is poor, especially lower veg and meat drawers. Does GE offer an option to add an LED light or two? Otherwise, the refrigerator is functioning well.

Our 16 year old side by side was having issues and we replaced it with this GE model which closely resembled what we had. We had size restrictions and this fit the bill. So far it is running well. It is a good thing there is an alarm which sounds when the door isn't closed because the door doesn't close as easily as our old one did and we wouldn't know it had not closed without the alarm. This is a good general purpose no-frills refrigerator/freezer.

Have had this 2 weeks and like it so far. Always a space trade off with a side by side but we are working this out. Fits my space so nicely. Adjustable shelves. One was cracked, GE promptly sent a new one. Love the water on outside of door. Very satisfied so far! Very quiet.

The appliance makes a very loud noise. It needs to be professionally installed to be levelled correctly. Perhaps that is the reason for the noise. Good luck getting it professionally installed or getting someone on the phone to help you get it leveled.

Cooling motor louder than in my past experience. Ice tray water fill is very loud. The unit has a lean that was unable to be corrected by the techs.

We have multiple issues with this frig. When the motor for the refrigerator side runs there is a loud persistent rattle that loud enough to disturb you 30 feet away. The water dispenser leaks water every time you use it. Some water goes down the dispenser to the drain tray and about 50% time it runs down the door. The worst part is the refrigerator compartment is not consistently cold in all areas. We had milk on the top shelf and it kept spoiling. After moving it to the bottom shelf no more problems. By simply placing your hand in the top shelf area and the bottom shelf area you can feel the temperature difference. Makes the top shelf virtually worthless. We have had it serviced twice to fix these issues and all three remain a problem.

It's almost exactly like the one I had before, except this one is not a GE profile. It's fairly small, but necessary due to our space limitations. The biggest issue is there is no cheese drawer. No place for lunch meats and cheeses. That's just unacceptable.

Beautiful and sleek, with easy to open doors and ample shelf room. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 instead of a 5 is because my freezer shelves were missing upon delivery (but GE is sending them to me at no charge.

We bought this fridge sight unseen when there was no counter depth model available. It didn't take long for us to realize how hast we'd been when we decided to buy this fridge. The fridge side lacks a meat/cheese drawer, so we ended up with a constantly messy fridge. The freezer size only has two shelves with a pathetically small basket at the bottom. It is the biggest waste of space! The exterior started to rust after two years, which was a shock. It does keep food cold, but we just ordered a French door with bottom freezer model by a different company, and can't wait to get it!

Had this fridge in the new house we bought and liked the side by side features so remodeled my kitchen and replaced with stainless steel model . I am continually wiping off smudges and fingerprints. I own another stainless steel fridge and have no problems with marking. Disappointed with this even though I'm using same stainless steel cleaner on both.

The main complaint I have with this fridge is that it is DARK inside. The lack of lighting is ridiculous. The tray at bottom of the exterior water dispenser could not be cheaper looking. There should be another shelf for the freezer. Overall, not a fridge I would recommend.

I am very unhappy with this refrigerator. There is a temperature panel but it doesn't display anything. The doors to NOT automatically close. The inside shelves and draws are made from cheap materials. Impossible to clean the outside. I don't even try anymore. Not happy.

I recently purchased a home, but had no choice in the selection of appliances.
I'm a little disappointed in this refrigerator because it is small and not well lit inside. There is no small drawer for meats and cheese like the apartment I lived in. There are two draws for vegetables and fruits, but no temperature controls. The freezer appears to be smaller also. Given the chance to select my refrigerator I would have bought one with more features.

Love the fridge, and it's slim depth! Way better than the deep one we had that stuck out and caused too many stubbed toes. I added one more door shelf and that gave it ample room. Only thing that I would change is the lighting isn't the brightest. But it's not like I'm reading books in there. Love the water & ice spout in door. Makes fast ice as well.

We had this GE refrigerator for 1 month. After 2 weeks it developed a chemical smell (like nail polish remover) in both the refrigerator and freezer (when the door is opened). We do not have the water nor the ice cube maker hooked up and yet there is something leaking down the slot where the water would go. One repair person came out and could not find a freon leak. He left saying he would put in his report. We are waiting for GE to tell us what comes next. The lighting in both sides is not bright enough. Very displeased. It was the only size that would fit in under our cabinet.
