When we built the our new house, my wife decided on the slate appliances. She loves that fingerprints don't show like our stainless steel fridge did at the old house. Love the LED lighting. Nice and bright everywhere inside the fridge and freezer. Plenty of room and plenty of ways to configure it for storage.

I love the color but it is tedious to keep cleaning due it not being stainless steel and has to get cleaned with soft cloth as per instructions will scratch using paper towels. The left side crisper drawer does not easily close, gets stuck from above solid shelf.

I had all GE Slate appliances in my last house and decided to install the same in my new home. This time I got the Profile refrigerator and even though it's counter depth and a little smaller, the interior has plenty of space. The door shelves are so big I can fit a 6 pack of beer and 3 wine bottles, and of course so much more. I assume I will be just as happy with this purchase as I was the past 7 years before moving.

First time going with a counter-depth model. Our other fridge lasted 23 years. Hope this one lasts at least half of that (since I know that things are made like they used to be). So far, we love the counter depth. It has the same amount of room that my old fridge had. The bottom drawer (freezer) is a little hard to pull out, and I have to press my upper body against the top of the fridge and pull the bottom part. It fits perfectly, works great, so we love it!

I've only had this refrigerator for a few weeks, but I LOVE IT! Replaced an 8 year old Samsung that needed major service three times. Chose the GE because it is rated the most reliable. We've had stainless steel for too many years. The slate finish on this refrigerator is WONDERFUL. It blends beautifully with the remaining stainless steel appliances we still have. I also love the inside water dispenser, the deep door shelves and fabulous lighting inside.

The exterior finish is magical. It was scratched by our floor finishers and unless you walk right up to it and know where to look, you would never see it. Because it is a bit shallower, being counter depth, and the lighting is amazing, everything is that much more visible and accesible. The 'open door' alert has come in handy a couple of times, the ice maker works perfectly, the freezer is so roomy and the flexibiltiy of shelf arrangement makes it easy to store pretty much anything we want to put in there.

We are really thrilled with our new refridgerator. Even though it measures one cubic foot smaller than our previous side by side model, we feel like we have a lot more room. We are getting along very well without the in door water and ice maker, and that is probably why it feels like we have so much more space. Also like the VERY finger print resistent finish.

Clean look on the inside and outside which is what I was going for. This will hold a large pizza box however I wish I'd ordered the larger unit as I could use more drawer storage, my old GE had much larger drawers. I didn't want the larger size sticking out any further from my cabinets is why I went with this particular size. The plus side is you don't lose anything with this size shelving. AND the LED lights are a bonus.

When I went looking for a new refrigerator I wasn't sure what I wanted. I read reviews on GE appliances and saw that they were critical of the humming. I have not noticed this at all. I realize my refrigerator was just installed but the look of it is so nice and the interior is far better than any other brands I looked at. Another reason I bought the GE is because we have a side by side back up which is over 20 yrs old and was a savior when our main one went out. The guys who installed my refrigerator were fantastic and very helpful in showing the features of the refrigerator and what to expect in the cooling process and how to make the cooling more efficient. so far I am very happy with my purchase.

We purchased a house with this refrigerator recently installed. We have been very disappointed with the interior water dispenser. It's froze on us on at least 3 occasions in 7 months. The first time was a real pain and waste of time trying to figure out what happened but it magically started working again in a couple days. The second time it happened we read up on some troubleshooting techniques and figured it was the water line or reservoir freezing. We turned up the temp (set at factory recs) and in a day or so it was back. The last time after not working for two days, we again had to troubleshoot, remove the vegetable drawer, and take a hair dryer to the reservoir and lines to thaw them out. For a 3k unit, that is kind of unacceptable. Other features have been good but the water dispenser issue has been a let down and would probably be enough to avoid GE products in the future.

Poduct works great, but there was a scratch on the door upon install. Packaging plastic was not fully removed either and is stuck in the seams of the doors and framing of the fridge.

This refrigerator is a delight. Keeps veggies crisp, wonderful ice maker, and love the freezer too. Our only minor complaint is the one internal drawer that goes across both of the refrigerator doors so you need to open both to get at the meats and cheeses. However this is minor compared to all the great features. We also like the internal to the fridge chilled water .

No problems for the first three years and suddenly we wake up to a continuous low pitched humming noise and the refrigerator at 43 degrees, soon spiking to 50 degrees!! Check to make sure nothing blocking back wall of fridge, unplugged, re-plugged and no change to problem. Contacted GE and no service until 6 days later!! Thankfully we have another fridge as back-up (cheaper Kenmore fridge that we've owned for over 10 years -still running strong, never a problem with it)
Very disappointed. Expected more reliability from such an expensive product from what I considered a stalwart appliance manufacturer.

It's a well built refrigerator from some other brands I looked at. Love the light tan color matches my counters. One big flaw is it is not on wheels so you can move it out like my old one. And you have to really close the door or it will come open again

Pros: handsome and sleek appearance with very nice finish. Good quality materials on the inside.
Cons: (1) This is a counter-depth fridge (which we need for our space), which is of course shallower than a standard-depth. For us, too much of the interior storage is in the doors, including capacity for 1-gallon jugs, which requires the shelves to recessed, and so the shelves are super shallow and the produce bins have minimal capacity. Our previous (25-yr old) GE Profile side-by-side was a great design but no longer exists. (2) The freezer is ridiculously hard to open. You have to pull so hard on the handle that the entire unit slides forward; we have taken to putting one hand on the fridge handles to stop the sliding when opening the freezer; am worried about how long that freezer handle will last (btw, yes, I know how to adjust the feet so it is not sitting on the wheels). (3) Water supply intake in the back is at a crazy angle that points directly at an obstruction, which makes it very difficult to connect the water line; it's as if none of the engineers ever tried it.

This is a replacement for a 17 year old refrigerator. The new refrigerator is 4 cu.ft. Larger but fits into where the old refrigerator sat. I'm not used to the refrigerator being so cold but I guess that's how it's supposed to be. All the food stays fresh longer. We threw out two batches of ice and the new ice is fresh and tastes good. I'm so happy now that I have all matching appliances.

I knew people reported the refrigerator being noisy and it truly is. Not all the time but when the compressor needs to run and it seems like it needs to run 20-30 minutes out of every hour. I can hear it from far away and is pretty annoying. I am hoping GE comes up with some replacement part that improves the noise levels but it might be years from now.

We just replaced our 35 year old refrigerator with this model. LOVE the bottom access freeze and the organization options in the refrigerator section is top notch. Our only complete is that the slate finish is very fragile... easily scratched and nicked... we are not sure how it's going to hold up over time.

Like many, we decided on a remodel project to pass the time during the pandemic. We are die hard GE fans so we went with slate GE profile colors. The old appliances were stainless so they had to go.
The new refrigerator is much brighter inside due to many LEDs and the countertop depth and extra width was a good choice. The bins and shelves offer more options than we've had before and the slate color is beautiful.
On the downside, the water filtration system now has a microchip in it that forces you to buy the GE cartridge at $60 vs the $12-$16 Amazon alternatives. Otherwise, no filtered water! The doors need constant adjustments depending on how much you store inside (wrench provided), the unit is very noisy; much more so than our previous 4 yr old GE, and the wheel locks don't work well. Also, the plastic peel off paint protector appears to be
installed before door and freezer seals. It doesn't all pull out and looks like little threads
dangling. Rubber tipped tweezers will help.
In summary, we bought it for the color without reading reviews.
