I've never heard of speed queen. But I went to my local hardware store and they had them although a limited amount because of COVID. The washer and dryer I looked at had stickers on them that said (Built to last 25 years). That's what I really want because I am 61 y/o this should be my last washer and dryer.

I have had my new Speed Queen dryer for about 2 months and I find it to be excellent and exactly what I wanted. It is the basic model and does such a good job drying my clothes efficiently and gently. The bonus is having a light come on inside the dryer when you open the door. The dryer itself seems very sturdy and should last for many years.

We previously owned a SpeedQueen washer and dryer and were very happy with its performance so when the time came to replace the dryer we decided to get another SpeedQueen. What a mistake! The quality is definitely not the same. A load of clothes that would normally take 30 minutes to dry now take 45 minutes. Towels take at least an hour... but my biggest complaint is the fact that there is no buzzer letting you know that the dryer is done!! So unless you set a timer on your phone or keep an eye on the clock the clothes will sit until you remember. I would not recommend this dryer.

Very pleased with the purchase. This is the first new washer and dryer since 1999. The other was working fine, however, I had a fear that it would break at any. After much research, the Speed Queen was chosen and I am very pleased with it.

For the price that you pay for these dryers you would think that they work better than they do. My dryer takes at least two times to dry one load and sometimes it takes even more. I have even had it to burn clothes, blankets and comforters. If I had known the problems that this dryer was going to cause, I would have purchased a cheaper brand from a different company. Very unhappy and dissatisfied with the product.

I don't care for the open lint catcher. When I open the dryer, some of my clothes or socks fall into the lint catcher and get lint all over them that is difficult to pull off. I prefer to have it not open. I wish I could go back and get another type of speedqueen that doesn't have this option.

When my tired old dryer died during the pandemic, I shopped at my local appliance store for a replacement. The helpful salesperson there told me about the Speed Queen brand and it was immediately obvious that they were built so much better than anything I have used in the past. I love my new dryer! I'd never heard of this longtime brand until the Spencer's salesman recommended it to me. I was looking for durable and simple, I don't need 50 cycles to choose from or an electronic keypad to potentially and expensively break down the road. It's smaller so it fit well in my laundry closet. I do like that the lint trap is screwed in so you just scrape the lint out of it, you don't have to pull out a tray and you don't end up with lint behind the tray and going into the duct. However, the way the lint catcher is positioned right at the door, if you don't clean it out BEFORE removing clothes from the dryer, you pull out the lint with and onto the clothes since the clothes drag through the trap on the way out the door. That's my only complaint and it's remedied by just getting into the habit of emptying the lint trap before I remove the clothes from the dryer instead of afterwards. I love the big knobs, the simplicity, the basic options to choose from. It's just a good sturdy dryer that should last for years. It also has a better standard warranty than the others I was looking at. I've only had it about a month but I'm very happy with it.
