Really impressed with our new Speed Queen dryer. I always try to buy American made products when I can and I am very happy I did on this dryer. It is quiet and does a great job with my clothes, I love the steam feature as well, I've never had that on a clothes dryer before.

I purchased a DR5 model in April 2023 after doing a lot of research. It is easy to operate and without all the bells and whistles. Since everything is being made cheaper by the regulations of our current government, it is the best on the market. Wish I had purchased a Speed Queen washer, but I did not know how much our appliance industry had been affected in the last 2 years and purchased another well know brand that has been a really bad experience. I just wish the dryer had a glass door and a countdown on the drying cycle.

This DR5003WG gas dryer is the best dryer we have ever owned. The construction is far superior to most "consumer" dryers. There is nothing cheap or flimsy about it. It dries exceedingly well, is very quiet and Energy Star rated. It has a large capacity, well lit interior. The controls are solid feeling and easy to use. No Bluetooth or WiFi gimmicks, just good solid, simple construction. Highly recommended.

The first washer I purchased was returned and replaced after the start pad malfunctioned 3 times requiring replacement of pad each time. The second washer has had repair for the same problem. With the dryer I never know how my clothes will turn out, most of the time they're a wrinkled mess and often are not dry after an hour in the dryer. The irony is that I purchased Speed Queen with the impression that they required little to no repair service, unfortunately that has not been the case.

We like the simplicity of the machine, the agitator, and its manufacture in the USA. The Dryer can be disassembled to fit through small openings.

Replaced a junk Samsung machine. I've had it with foreign junk that has lousy build quality, horrible service and bumbling techs. I'm so soured on Samsung. Their machines are junk, the techs are poorly trained and repairs appear to center on "replace parts until it runs". That can take months.
Did a lot of research on machines and Speed Queen won. The dryer has a large door, easy clothing entry and removal and the interior light stays on. The Samsung had a smaller access door and the drum light timed out which was really annoying.
The sensor dry works great (it was useless on the Samsung). I like the simple controls, the filter is easy to clean and the materials are all top rate. I do wish the lint filter was stainless steel mesh. That's my only "con".
The dryer is well made and it's heavy. I read some online reviews that didn't like the lack of color choices. I don't care, it's a dryer, not a Porsche (although it's built better than a Porsche!) and it's made in the USA. Best dryer I've ever owned (gas).

I bought this to replace a Whirlpool dryer that was 10 months old. It did not dry clothes in one cycle especially towels. My Speed Queen does a fantastic job of drying. The only non-positive comment and giving only four stars for quality of machine is because it has a squeak that sounds like a bird chirping. Very simple to operate.

So far these are the best machines we've bought. They are a little noisy, but does a better job than any other ones. I like the top load machines compared to front loads by far. We hope they last longer than the other brands.

They work good. Dryer had to have heating element replaced about a year or so into use. Washer does bounce around some due to floor surface.

There seems to be only three options to dry laundry.
1). 30 minutes; 2) 60 minutes; or 3) dry sensor. I would rather be able to select 20 minutes, or 50 minutes, etc, depending on the laundry I am drying. The dry sensor never seems to be done drying the laundry when it signals that the laundry is done. I find that I am either timing it in my own m, or I have keep checking to see if it's dry.

I purchased Speed Queen because everyone I know owns Speed Queen and they say they are built to last. The dryer does not have quite as many choices of my old dryer that was 19.5 years old, but I am satisfied with the options offered. Hope to keep it running for at least 20 years!

My wife convinced me to spend the extra money on a speed queen set up. Less than a year dryer heating element went out. After 6 days with no dryer someone came out and repaired under warranty. 45 days later dryer not heating again. Would not recommend this to anyone.

Had the dryer almost a year it was doing great. It started making some noise like a bearing might be going out and then the heating element went out. I spoke to speed queen and the dryer comes with a 5 year warranty. I took it it for repair and the heating element was replaced and it is back to working again however it still sounds like a bearing is going out. It will probably need repair again before the 5 year warranty is up so I will see if they can get that fixed next time. Like the title says "it's a great dryer when it works. We also have a speed queen washer and it works like a champ.

We were excited to purchase a Speed Queen washer and dryer for our new home. So far I would only say that we have mixed feelings about them. They are loud, and don't have features you would expect in any washer and dryer. The auto-sense for dryness doesn't actually get all of the clothes dry if you have different weights of items to dry. The timed dry has two options - 30 minutes and 60 minutes. It's a dial. You should be able to pick how many minutes you want!!!!!!!

I have only had my dryer for about 6 weeks but, so far, I absolutely love it. It is simplistic but it does what is needed and it dries everything well. The "Auto sensing" setting actually works!! It is solid and I am hoping it will last as advertised.
My only slight negative would be that I can't hear the "end of cycle" buzzer and I find the door a little hard to open (I have arthritis!)

My Maytag died after 12 years and I wanted to see if I could get a Speed Queen to match the washer I had. This is the best dryer I have ever purchased and it has the best warranty of any that I have ever owned. The only dryer that I have ever had that had a light inside also. I would recommend this to anyone that wanted a built in the USA machine.
